If you're Uninsured
How can My Health and Money help?
Not having health insurance can be frightening, especially if you have health concerns. By 2014, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) will mandate that everyone has some form of basic health insurance. But until then, your options include: qualify for a state high-risk pool, fund your own individual plan, stay on your parent's plan if you're under 26, or go without coverage.
So how can I get access to care for less?
We've put together several discount cards and partner saving programs to help you get access to dentists, alternative and complementary health practitioners, hearing aid specialists, retail pharmacies, and more. Some of these offers are free to basic members, while others you'll need to become a Premium Member. We've kept the monthly subscription fee low, however, so everyone can save.
In addition, our new Premium Plus membership provides access to experts through our Ask an Expert website section. You can talk with nurses, doctors, therapists and financial advocates whenever you have a question. You can also schedule an appointment with a board-certified primary care doctor for non-emergency appointments for less than the cost of a walk-in clinic or doctor’s office visit.
When you have cost questions about hospital procedures, you can find pricing by facilities in your zip code that offer discounts to uninsured patients. And don't forget to compare pricing so that you don't get hit with a higher charge than Medicare or insured patients. We can help you get access, and become a savvy purchaser of healthcare goods and services.
